Monday was spent phoning the hospital and trying to find out when Dad2BabyInsomniac would be having his operation. Eventually we heard that he could in on Tuesday which was a big relief as he was really starting to struggle at home. The weather was amazing again so we spent most of the day in the garden and our friends came round at lunchtime.
On Tuesday Dad2BabyInsomniac’s Dad picked him up early in the morning and drove him to the hospital. They needed to check whether his swelling had gone down enough to operate so we had no idea how long he would need to stay in but when his mum phoned at 10am we were told that he had just gone into theatre so I spent the next few hours waiting to hear how it went. His operation lasted for four hours but he phoned me when he came out and apparently it all went as well as it could have done so that was a big relief. We won’t know for a while how well it has worked and until then it’s hard to say how many operations he will need but he has been told that he will eventually need an ankle replacement (either artificial or donor) which is a bit creepy but I guess there is no point worrying about that yet. In the evening I had college, I only have three weeks left now.
On Wednesday we were told that Dad2BabyInsomniac was allowed to come home so Iyla and I went to look around the shops in the town where the hospital is before picking him up in the afternoon. It was a really sunny day which just made everything so much more fun.
On Thursday we stayed at home. Dad2BabyInsomniac has to keep his leg elevated for two weeks and can only move if essential so there’s not a lot we can do!
On Friday we went over to Dad2BabyInsomniac’s sister’s house for lunch. It was nice to get a change of scenery.
On Saturday we just spent the day in the house and garden. I bought some sand for Iyla’s sandpit which she loved.
On Sunday we went to a little cafe for a cream tea with Dad2BabyInsomniac’s mum and brother. It is a really cool little place as it’s someones house with an added wooden building that they have turned into a cafe. It’s in the countryside and they have a lovely garden. Unfortunately Iyla fell and banged her head on a table resulting in her bleeding lots. Luckily it looked worse than it was though and she was fine once she saw the scones!

Oh Bless her, I didn’t realise she had hurt her head Jess, I hope she is ok. How is Dad2BabyInsomniac getting on, is he getting upset and frustrated or is he ok? I hope all is better soon. xxx
