We Have A Name!

I have read a number of highly amusing blog posts over the last year about names for little girl’s private parts.

The reason I have read so many is because I was hoping that I might find one that I liked enough to use.

But I didn’t.

Finding a name for ‘it’ has been playing on my mind for a while now because I just don’t like any of the options. Fanny and Fadge have been used regularly in reference to mine (even though I hate them both) but neither of these are suitable for a little girl. Fanny sounds incredibly dated and fadge is just wrong.

I know the scientific names should be used as it’s not like we give our arms and legs nicknames but ‘vagina’, ‘labia’ and ‘vulva’ just sound a bit too clinical for me. And names like ‘flower’ are just a bit too pathetic.

To be honest I had given up on ever finding suitable name and was planning on not calling it anything when Iyla came up with one all by herself.

She calls it a ‘Bum Bum’ which I actually don’t mind.

She has even given willies a new name.

The other day she ran into see Dad2BabyInsomniac when he was in the bath. It was the first time she has ever properly noticed his willy and she pointed at it, then shouted ‘WOAH CRAZY BUM BUM’!

Crazy Bum Bum

It was honestly one of the funniest things I have ever heard and after posting it all over Facebook, I just had to mention it on here.

Don’t worry though, at some point I will teach her the real names. I wouldn’t want her asking her husband (yes she will be married before having sex) to put his Crazy Bum Bum in her Bum Bum……. although I would rather that then her asking him to put his Sausage in her Gash.

What names do you use for your little one’s private parts?!

I’m really stuck with this one. I have a toddler son, and it was easy to use willy for him, but I really don’t know what to use for a girl. I think that I might just use ‘bits’, or else perhaps I should just wait and see what she comes up with!

Haha, it’s going to be hilarious when Ben has to come up with an English name for it for Amy, because I’m only responsible for it in German or at least that’s what I’ll tell him. I think I’m gonna wet myself when he will try and explain everything, haha…

That’s so funny! Love the idea that men have crazy bum bums! ;0) I’ve always wondered what name I would use when my daughter is old enough. When I was younger mine was called a tuppence but I don’t like that. x

My son has a willy and my daughter doesn’t. She seems content with not having a word for it because its a thing she doesn’t have as far as she is concerned. When she is bigger and needs to know stuff about it then I’ll give her the medical names

Oh that is hilarious, kids say the funniest things. With my niece we’ve always referred to hers as her ‘noo noo’ and with Riley we call his ‘dinkie’. xxx

Brilliant!! I thought I’d get away with this having 2 boys (willy is just fine for them!) but no, they still want to know what Mummy’s bits are called. I came up with for Foo Foo… :o )

Oh I remember this causing me so much thought, wanting to call ‘it’ by its real name but thinking she was really too young. In the end MIss N chose her own name…front bottom.
Really lovely story, brazy bum bum is a great name :D

When I was little, my mum used to call it my ‘tuppence’. FFS. So I got REALLY CONFUSED when I heard people saying ‘tuppence’ with reference to old money. Not good.

So far, with Moo, I’ve used fanny, bits and foof. Her daddy’s a biology teacher so no doubt he’ll want to be all biological about it, tsk.

I’ve had exactly the same dilemma! I have no idea as I’m not a fan of calling mine anything, let alone hers! At the moment front bum is the forerunner, but I’m not even keen on that. I kind of like woo woo, but then is that too silly for when she goes to school, don’t want other kids laughing at her.

Just catching up from my holiday- this post is hilarious. We just use front bottom for Mads- not original I know. And willy for mens bits! x

I laughed out loud at this! So funny! Bless her.

I toyed with the idea of calling it vagina or vulva but I think I’ll end up calling it what I called it growing up – private parts. I think that’s pretty good because it’s not gendered and it conveys the idea that it’s protected.

By the by, I hope Iyla will not be asking her husband to put his anything inside her anything. That sounds like really awkward and mechanical sex! :P
